Today, Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla himself presents the technology developed in-house before an exclusive lap on Tesla’s test track...

With its very large 17-inch touch screen this infotainment system is nearly comparable to some tablets or laptops...

Elon’s demonstration is somewhat a little brief but we got our hands on a more detailed one.
Still in development, the system shows how much Tesla wants to revolutionize the automobile industry and not only in terms of propulsion. It offers six basic applications and the possibility to download additional ones.

It works via a 3G connection, a split screen allows to perform separate operations (driver and passenger), while the lower part of the screen is dedicated to climate control.

The opening of the sunroof is operated through the screen, such as the lights and monitoring of the vehicle (like in some hybrids)... It features a connectivity with your phone and offers automatic data transfer...

But the innovations do not stop there and follow you even outside the car with the a specially created iPhone app that shows the state of charge of the vehicle and is able to handle few vehicles at the same time (interesting for fleets), this application allows you to activate air conditioning, or to open the flap of the charging socket, and we easily imagine that this is just the beginning ...

As a bonus, here is a gallery of the Models S Beta (and the Signature Edition)
