Last March a prototype of hybrid Mini had been spotted
in testing, Kay Segler, Mini director confirmed during the Frankfurt Motor Show that the electric versions of the Mini would probably not see production due to excessive weight penalizing the vehicle weight and “livability”.
He then stated that the brand would likely switch to plug-in hybrid powertrains.
The Mini E in circulation for almost two years now allowed to collect sufficient information on the technology and the user’s needs.
Nonetheless the propulsion type and possible 4 wheel drive; envisioned by the March images of snow testing; is still to be confirmed.
