First convertible with range extender: the Fisker Sunset confirmed for 2013

14/09/2011
Henrik Fisker has just confirmed that the convertible version of the Karma will be called the Sunset, and will be launched in 2013.

A convertible version of the Karma is not a real novelty per se, what is new is the confirmation of its name and its release date. Both of which announce sale ambitions for this vehicle unveiled at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show.

In 2013, Fisker should have at least two variants based on the Karma platform, the freshly revealed Surf and the Sunset. About the Surf it will be sold at a higher price than the Karma (€85500) and Fisker plans 2500 annual units.
But also a new model, a compact going by the name of Project Nina using new platform and engine with an agreement signed this month with BMW that will provide turbocharged four cylinders.

As for an SUV version to counter the Tesla Model X whose reveal is expected by year end, a time announced by the rumors, for now no new information or confirmation has emerged.
