After the concept car LF-Gh and GS300’s images, Lexus waited Frankfurt to reveal this year’s most expected novelty, the new GS 450 hybrid.
This new edition of the GS450h inaugurates among others a new interior and a new infotainment system that uses one of the largest screens of the market, a 12.3 inch.
But mostly its about its new engine, the second generation of Lexus’s hybrid technology, a V6 3.5-liter Atkinson cycle matted to two electric motors (the car remains back-wheel drive).
Thanks a drag coefficient of just 0.26 this hybrid sedan achieves records of efficiency for its class, with a consumption figure of 6.3 l/100km and emissions below 145g/km, a reduction of 18% compared to the previous generation.
The combined power is comparable to V8 engines: 343ch and 345Nm of torque allowing to go from 0 to 100kph in 5.9 seconds and with a top speed of 250kph.
The technology is fitted throughout the car with various innovations on the handling an active suspension (AVS) and rear-wheel steering (Dynamic Rear Steering).
