2012 Audi A8 Hybrid: 245hp and 148g/km

The new Audi A8 in its hybrid version will offer six-cylinder performances from a small 2.0ll four cylinder.
Combined to an electric motor the total power is 245hp and 480Nm with an average consumption of 6.4 l/100km (36,7mpg) and emissions of 148g/km!

Impressive for a vehicle of this size which outperform its rivals the Lexus LS600h and its 218g/km, the BMW 7 Series Active Hybrid's 219g/km and the S Class 400 Hybrid's 186g/km (however they offer a little more power)

On the performance side, yet the car is not leftover with a 0 to 100kph in 7.7 seconds and top speed of 235kph, the 211hp and 350Nm 2.0TFSI internal combustion engine benefits from the impressive torque of the electric motor that develops 54hp for 210Nm.

The Audi A8 Hybrid adopts the famous aluminum body and a new tiptronic eight speed gearbox.

The hybrid sedan offers three driving modes: EV, which gives priority to the electric motor, the mode D that balances performance and economy and finally the S mode that delivers the maximum power of both engines, and can operate independently or together.
In EV mode the A8 can go up to 100kph and has a three kilometers range at 60kph.

The 1.3kWh air cooled lithium-ion battery is placed in the trunk in a "crash proof" location.

The data listed are provisional and remain subject to final homologation.
