(VIDEO) On board the 2011 Silvretta E-Auto winner, the Audi A1 e-tron

For the second consecutive year, Audi has won the Silvretta rally for electric cars but this time it is not the R8 e-tron, who won but the Audi A1 e-tron.

In three days, the vehicles traveled 307km, the A1 e-tron is a prototype of an hybrid compact vehicle with range extender, the 75kW (102ch) electric motor is powered by a 12kWh battery whose full recharge takes three hours on a house hold plug and only 30 minutes in quick charge, for a range of 50km 100% electric.
A gasoline rotary engine of only 254cm ³ is used as range extender.

The Audi team is already looking forward to the 2012 event "We already have a few ideas about the kind of concepts we’ll enter with, of course.”" ....
