Renault ZE’s offensive isn't over, two more cars and a halo model in the works
28 June 2012During a chat, Thierry Koskas director of Renault’s EV program has made several announcements:
-The export of the Twizy in 5 new countries: following it success in Europe with 6500 units already sold, especially in France and Germany, Renault wants to test new markets, Turkey, Israel, South America, Japan and Singapore.
-M. Koskas also confirmed an entry-level electric vehicle, a city-car developed on a common platform with Daimler (the famous Twingo // ForFour expected in 2014), it will be offered at a price around € 10,000 .
-Finally, he announced that an electric MPV could complement the ZE range... "an electric MPV would be a good idea."
However, no comments in this chat regarding a sports-car, a halo model for the range, but as Autocar announced this week, the development of an electric sports-car under the ZE or Alpine badge, has been confirmed to us by an engineer at Renault Sport ... Stay tuned, but to tell you more -again according to him- the car would be more than a one-off prototype!
