The "Mia Electric" available in car sharing
05 May 2012The company "Poitou-Charentes Auto-Partage" has just been created this week to operate a fleet of electric cars available for the public and the local company "Mia Electric” has been chosen for this service.
Indeed, the Poitou-Charentes region, rescued the company –formerly Heuliez- from financial troubles and now holds 30% of the company based in Cerizay that gives work to 500 employees
Since the official launch of the Mia in September 2011, public authorities are buying the vehicle, taking advantage of the large subsidies offered by the region, an extra 4000 rebate (national grant excluded).
For the record, the price of a Mia is around €20,000. All deductions made, Poitevin's only need to pay 60% of this amount (€12000) to buy a Mia. A good deal for an electric that offers a range of 90 km (120 in ECO mode), reaches 110kph in peak and that welcomes from one to four passengers!
This fleet will be available with subscription from this summer. By September the number of vehicles is expected to be about forty.
