06 March 2012We have been waiting for a long time since the first rumours, the Morgan Plus E developed in collaboration with British specialists Zytek and Radshape emerges.

In addition to being fully electric this Morgan has an innovative gearbox, in fact this Morgan Plus E has successfully combined an electric motor with a 5 speed gearbox. This innovation will allow Morgan to increase the driving pleasure of an electric car.

About its specs, the 70kW engine comes from Zytek, about 95 horsepower, it is matted with the 5 speed gearbox mounted into the transmission tunnel, Morgan introduces a system of heel-toe shifting when the driver depresses the clutch pedal, the electronic controls will automatically match the engine rpms with the speed of the gearbox’s output shaft to ensure a perfect shift.
The development program at Morgan announced that they will offer two vehicles, one with the manual transmission and one that will be closer to a production vehicle with spare batteries and maybe a sequential gearbox.
