Rotation principle of the event
Germany has been the home of Shell Eco-marathon for the past three years and has been central to the event’s growing development and evolution during this time. Shell is grateful to Germany, especially the region of Lausitz, and to all those who contributed to making Shell Eco-marathon what it is today.
With over 25 different countries participating in this race for fuel efficiency, Shell Eco-marathon has grown into a truly European event.
New urban setting for 2012
We’re looking at an all-new urban setting for 2012 with, for the first time, the competition in Europe taking place on a street course/track. This is a way of showcasing the exciting student innovations and futuristic vehicles on a more realistic stage.
