Opel RAK_e and Audi Urban Concept set for production?

Thanks to the warm welcome and enthusiasm of the public and especially the fleet operators at the reveal of their concepts in Frankfurt this year, Opel and Audi are considering the production their micro electric urban vehicles.

While it’s not really a surprise for Opel, which announced since the beginning that they were strongly thinking about production for this vehicle, at the time being, Audi had never spoken on the subject...

Two representatives of the brands Karl-Friedrich Stracke for Opel and Michael Dick for Audi have confirmed rumors of production.

Mr. Stracke doesn’t hide that the most promising market for this type of vehicle is car sharing and says that Opel already received requests in this direction, they could push the manufacturer to produce this model.

Michael Dick announces that Audi already started a reflection on a test fleet of the Urban Concept but did not give any specific dates

Price ?
RAK_e
While rumors of price for the RAK_e where stating a price below € 10,000 for the moment, Rita Frost, Head of Development at Opel said that a price around € 12,000 seemed more realistic.
Urban Concept
Michael Dick did not reveal the official price but an important indication, announcing that, as the target of these vehicles will be young (from 16 years old) prices should be consistent and adapt to this positionning.
